Saudi Arabian Pro League clubs are waiting to see if peace can be brokered between Mohamed Salah and Arne Slot before making any approach for the unhappy Liverpool forward.
Liverpool head coach Slot and Salah are expected to hold further talks over the next 48 hours in an effort to resolve the grievances the 33-year-old Egyptian so publicly aired after he was omitted from the first team squad last weekend.
Despite fevered speculation over his future, Liverpool maintain a stance that Salah only signed a new contract, worth in excess of £400,000 a week, months ago and expect him to see that out. They have no plans to sell as they believe the issue with Slot can be resolved.
Saudi Pro League sources, however, suspect that is an attempt by Liverpool to protect Salah's transfer value and are keeping a keen eye on developments.
Talking at the World Football Summit in Riyadh yesterday, Saudi Pro League chief executive Omar Mugharbel said: 'Mohamed Salah is welcome in the Saudi League, but it is the clubs that are responsible for negotiating with players.
'For sure Salah is one of them [a target].'
Al Hilal, Al Qadisah and Neom are all understood to be interested should Liverpool, who rejected a £150m offer from Al Ittihad in 2023, give any encouragement that a deal could yet be done over the coming weeks.
MLS sides San Diego and Chicago Fire also hold interest, but the expected financial package required would likely rule them out.
All eyes will now be on what, if anything, can be resolved between Slot and Salah.
Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes Salah has been 'too emotional and hasty' in his criticism.
Gerrard told TNT Sports: 'He needs to reverse a little bit, he needs to deal with that with the manager. We've all had head loss as players. We've all done emotional things.
'I know in time when this all calms, Mo will go, "I shouldn't have said that. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. I was a bit emotional, I was a bit hasty."'
