Stop interfering with referees’ decisions — Doku

The Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Nii Komiete Doku, has warned clubs to desist from interfering in the affairs of referees whenever they are on the pitch.

This, he said, would allow referees to act independently and professionally to ensure fair officiating in the Premier and the GN Bank Division One Leagues.

There have been concerns over refereeing in the nation’s top flight and Division One, especially with clubs often blaming referees for their loss.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Nii Komiete cautioned thus, "I am entreating all clubs participating in the various leagues to desist from interfering with referees decisions".

"I trust our referees to do a good job on the field of play but this can only be achieved when all participating clubs allow referees to act professionally and independently," he stressed.

He, therefore, congratulated referees on their performance in the two-week old Ghana Premier League.
