WAFU Zone B Champions League qualifiers: Ampem Darkoa Ladies secure semi-final slot
Striker Mary Amponsah scored a hat-trick as Ampem Darkoa Ladies defeated Athletico Abidjan FC 3-1 to record their second consecutive win in the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifiers at the Samuel Ogbemudia Sports Stadium in Benin City, Nigeria.

The win lifts them to the top of Group B table with six points and qualifies them for the semi-final which will be played on Monday.
Amponsah gave the Ghanaians the lead just in the second minute, she added a second goal in the 15th minutes before grabbing the third in the 28th minute.
It was another perfect day for Amponsah to show her prowess just as she performed phenomenally against Amis Du Monde in their opener last Sunday.
From recess, coach Nana Adarkwa substituted Jennifer Owusuaa for N-nyayimaya Bnabeka and Diana Amoako made way for Martha Appiah as Ampem Darkoa Ladies kept probing for more goals but their efforts did not materialize.
For the second time in a roll, Mary Amponsah was adjudged the Woman of the Match.
The Ghanaians will now face Benin’s Sam Nelly in the semi-final on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 5pm.
