Waris returns with a bang
Ghana forward Majeed Waris has had a difficult year but marked his return from injury with a goal in the French Ligue 1.
Not only that. He got an assist too as Lorient won 3-1 at home against Angers. Waris, 23, had fractured a bone in his left hand on his debut and there had been fears of a poor season, but he looked sprightly as he set up teammate Yann Jouffre in the 46th minute for the leveller.

It was an important win for the side as it marked their first victory of the season after drawing the first two games, and losing the other two.
Waris' last French adventure got him rave reviews as he copped nine goals in 16 games in a loan spell for Valenciennes. Lorient, who has him on a permanent deal, will hope for a better return.
Lorient is out of the relegation zone as they lie 15th with five points from five games played.
