Former CSA Director-General hosts cybersecurity leaders at AI threat Opera Soirée

Former Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority, Albert Antwi-Boasiako, has convened senior cybersecurity professionals and corporate executives in Accra for high-level discussions on the growing risks posed by artificial intelligence-driven cyber threats.

The event, dubbed the Founder’s Opera Soirée, was organised by e-Crime Bureau under the theme: “Leadership in the Era of AI-Driven Cyber Threats.”

Held at the company’s office complex in East Legon on Friday, May 22, 2026, the maiden edition of the invitation-only gathering brought together Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), cybersecurity experts, legal practitioners and business executives for strategic discussions on emerging digital risks and organisational resilience.

Organisers described the initiative as a platform intended to merge thought leadership with a refined cultural experience while encouraging collaboration among professionals operating within Ghana’s digital security ecosystem.

Addressing participants, Dr Antwi-Boasiako expressed appreciation to stakeholders who have contributed to the growth of e-Crime Bureau over the past 15 years and acknowledged the continued cooperation between industry players and the Cyber Security Authority.

Reflecting on his tenure at the Authority, he recounted efforts undertaken to strengthen Ghana’s cybersecurity architecture and position the country within the global digital security space.

According to him, challenges and criticisms encountered during his leadership period ultimately contributed to strengthening institutional systems and improving national cyber resilience.

A major highlight of the event was a presentation by Obed Frimpong, the Chief Information Security Officer of First National Bank, who spoke on the implications of artificial intelligence for cybersecurity governance and digital risk management.

Discussions centred on how organisations can adapt to rapidly evolving cyber threats, reinforce governance frameworks and build stronger digital defence systems as artificial intelligence increasingly transforms the global technology landscape.

Participants also exchanged practical insights on cybercrime prevention, digital investigations and collaborative approaches to combating emerging threats, with many stressing the importance of stronger cooperation between the public and private sectors.

Organisers indicated that the Founder’s Opera Soirée will now be held at least once every two months to create a consistent platform for dialogue on cybersecurity, digital forensics and technology-driven risks affecting businesses and institutions.

Established in 2011, e-Crime Bureau provides cybersecurity consulting, digital forensic investigations, financial crime analysis, legal support services and technology solutions to clients across Ghana and other African countries.

The event comes at a time when cybersecurity concerns are increasingly gaining prominence globally amid the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies and the growing sophistication of cybercriminal activities.
