Chalom Hights empowers BECE candidates through ElevateHer mentorship programme in Ashiaman

Chalom Hights has held another edition of its ElevateHer Mentorship Programme at Ashiaman Gbitsele, targeting female candidates preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) with training designed to build confidence, discipline and academic resilience.

The initiative brought together mentors and facilitators who engaged the students in interactive sessions aimed at strengthening their mental preparedness ahead of the national examinations, while also encouraging long-term personal development and leadership aspirations.

Organisers said the programme formed part of a broader effort to support young girls with both academic guidance and life skills needed to navigate key transition points in their education.

Speaking at the event, Rita Adu Boateng stressed the importance of early investment in the development of girls, noting that the pre-BECE stage is a critical period in shaping their future direction.

She encouraged the students to look beyond their current circumstances and build confidence in their abilities, adding that background should not define academic or personal success.

“The transition period for young girls, especially before major examinations such as the BECE, is one of the most defining moments in their lives. Through ElevateHer, we want every girl to know that her background does not limit her potential. We are committed to helping young girls build confidence, dream bigger, and believe in their ability to succeed,” she said.

Participants took part in discussions and mentorship sessions focused on managing examination pressure, overcoming fear, developing discipline, and understanding the role of education in shaping future opportunities.

Teachers and community representatives who attended the programme commended the initiative, saying it addressed not only academic preparation but also the emotional wellbeing of the students as they approach their examinations.

They described the intervention as timely, particularly for adolescent girls who often face multiple social and psychological pressures during key academic transitions.

Chalom Hights said the ElevateHer initiative is part of its wider mission to empower young women and girls through mentorship, leadership development and educational support, with the aim of helping them achieve their personal and academic goals.

The organisation added that it remains committed to expanding the programme to reach more communities and provide sustained support for girls to develop confidence, ambition and purpose.
