Dophil Roofing and Societe Generale launch 'Roof Now, Pay Later' scheme for public sector workers
Dophil Roofing System, in collaboration with Societe Generale, has launched an initiative aimed at providing affordable roofing solutions for public sector workers in Ghana.
Dubbed “Roof Now, Pay Later,” the consumer credit programme allows government employees and Societe Generale customers to access high-quality roofing materials on a credit basis, with repayments spread over one to three years.

The scheme is designed to support salaried workers whose building projects have stalled due to financial limitations, enabling them to complete their homes without the pressure of upfront costs.
At the launch event, Kwaku Agyapong, CEO of the Dophil Group of Companies, highlighted the common financial struggles people face when trying to complete their homes, particularly when reaching the roofing stage. "Today marks a milestone in Dophil Roofing System's journey, as we strive to extend our commitment to excellence and innovation in the building industry,” said Mr. Agyapong. "Our vision has always been clear: to provide the highest quality roofing solutions to Ghanaians across the country."
Mr. Agyapong emphasised that the programme would offer government employees a lifeline to complete their homes through flexible payment plans. “Putting a roof over one’s head should not be a burden,” he stated. “This initiative allows clients to enjoy flexible terms that accommodate their financial situation.”
In a speech read on behalf of Societe Generale Managing Director Ouzzani Hakim, the bank reaffirmed its commitment to helping Ghanaians achieve their homeownership dreams. “In partnership with Dophil, we are thrilled to introduce 'Roof Now, Pay Later' to help customers complete their homes with flexible payment options that suit different financial needs,” Mr. Hakim’s statement noted.
Dr. Daniel McKorley, CEO of the McDan Group of Companies, who chaired the event, lauded the initiative as an innovative solution to address the challenges faced by salaried workers in Ghana. “The rising cost of building materials makes it difficult for workers to complete their homes,” Dr. McKorley noted. “This initiative will help them complete their houses without being overwhelmed by inflation.”
The Deputy Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Dr. Kwabena Otoo, also commended the scheme, describing it as aligned with the TUC’s priorities to address Ghana’s 1.8 million housing deficit.

“Housing for workers has been one of our major concerns. This initiative by Dophil and Societe Generale aligns with our goals, so we’re ready to support it,” Dr. Otoo said, adding that he hopes future policies will assist workers from the foundational stages of building.
