Zenith Bank lights up Accra
Zenith Bank has ushered in the Christmas and New Year festive season with Christmas lights and Christmas elements at major intersections in the national capital, Accra.
The light-up of Zenith Heights and the Kotoka International Airport enclave has been a tradition initiated by the bank since 2018 to beautify Accra during the festive seasons and inspire other institutions to also light up their premises and cityscapes in the country.

The light-up event launched at the Nine Lesson and Carols Night last Friday at the head office of the bank in Accra was to mark the beginning of the celebration of the Xmas season – symbolising the birth of Christ, hope, renewal and the enduring light that unites people across the world.
It aimed to also reflect the strong bond between the bank and the community it served, as well as a reminder of the resilience of the bank.
Achievement
The Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Ghana Ltd, Henry Onwuzurigbo, lauded the achievement of the bank this year despite challenges.
“Despite the challenges and hurdles, 2024 has been a remarkable year. As a bank, our total customer deposits grew by 56 per cent from GH¢10.2 billion in September last year, to GH¢15.9 billion in September 2024.
This underscores the effectiveness of the bank’s strategic deposit mobilisation and increased customer confidence in its business operations,” Mr Onwuzurigbo said.
He further said that the year-on-year, net loans and advances increased by 62 per cent, up from GH¢2 billion in September last year to GH¢ 3.3 billion in September 2024, primarily due to new facilities given to customers as part of the bank’s strategic drive to expand into new small and medium enterprise (SME) and retail markets.

The CEO added that the bank's profit before tax (PBT) also grew by some 20 per cent, from GH¢735 million in September last year, to GH¢882 million in September 2024, indicating continuous improvement in the bank’s financial performance on a yearly basis.
Appreciation
Mr Onwuzurigbo expressed gratitude to the board of the bank for their strategic direction and vision.
“These achievements, which are stepping stones to an even brighter future for the bank, would not have been possible without the strategic direction and leadership of our board, the loyalty and support of our customers, the dedication and the commitment of the formidable members of Team Zenith. We owe these achievements to you all,” he said.
