The event, dubbed “2rd CAT Road Construction Solution Seminar,” introduced participants to the latest machinery for the road construction industry in addition to the upgraded technology available.

Speaking at the event in Accra, the Managing Director of Mantrac Ghana, Mr Emad Adeeb said in today’s competitive world of construction, contractors were facing a lot of challenges to maximise their machinery and lower their operating expenses.

“New technologies in machinery and production can significantly improve the users  bottomline,” he said.

“Our experience has thought us that road contractors need more than great machines and at Mantrac, we go a step further to create customer engagement sessions, provide flexible financial support to our customers through Stanbic Bank, after sales support, warranties and machines in flexible packages,” he added.

He indicated that Mantrac Ghana over the years had been able to offer customised equipment to the growth of the industry, saying we currently sell new machines, rental and Cat Certified used machines aside the mining equipment, forklifts and the legendary caterpillar and Olympian brands of generating set.

“In our quest to impact and position ourselves in the mining and oil and gas sectors, we are currently undertaking an investment worth US$ 40 million for the construction of Cat engine centre to support Ghana and the West African sub region,” he said.

Commendation

The Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr Isaac Agyei-Mensah commended Mantrac Ghana for its continuous support to the construction and mining industries, especially the road construction sector.

"Road transport plays a very vital role in any nations socioeconomic development. In Ghana, it is the dominant mode of transport and accounts for 97 per cent of passenger traffic and 95 per cent of freight," he said.

He indicated that Ghana had a huge shortfall in its infrastructure needs, adding that in responding to this challenge, the government was committed to providing the road infrastructure needed for development.
