Grouped under that country’s chamber of commerce and industries, the business delegation will explore avenues in areas such as health and spa tourism, construction of tourism facilities and rest stops, real estate, rental and sales, solar energy, marine drive and factories for the assembling agricultural equipment.

Members of the delegation include: Dr Oguz Murat Pinar of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr Oguz Murat Pinar, General Coordinator of BEN Ltd and Dr Kerim Koray Kebir, the General Coordinator of Techna Health Limited.

The mission is being facilitated by the Ghana Tourism Federation (GHATOF), the umbrella body of 23 private-sector trade associations in Ghana.

The delegation has held discussions with the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, who used the occasion to reiterate the government’s open-arm investment policy to business owners throughout the world.

“Ghana’s tourism is growing, and it will do with more investments by the country’s development partners,” she said, assuring members of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry that “our arms are open to investors who are genuine.”

The tourism minister commended GHATOF for proactively taking steps to attract investors into that sector. GHATOF, she said, had shown such seriousness and initiative that it had become a key factor in the ministry’s plans.

To the investors, she said, “I can assure you that because of the involvement of the federation in the Turkish investment exploration drive, you are assured of the fullest co-operation of the ministry.”

The President of GHATOF, Mr David Nana Anim, paid glowing tribute to the Minister of Tourism for her continuous support to private-sector tourism development initiatives, and also commended Mr Thomas Okyere of the Botswana Embassy in Ghana and his team, through whom the delegation was linked to Ghana.
