Unicorn Investment marks five years anniversary
Unicorn Happy Investment Limited, an investment company, has celebrated its fifth anniversary with a durbar in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
It was on the theme: "Creating financial discipline and employment through micro - finance operation".
The company, which started with a capital of Gh¢ 20,000 and three staff members now has over 300 workers serving 30,000 customers.
Ten branches
Addressing the durbar, the chairperson of the board of directors of the company, Dr Smile Dzisi, said from a humble beginning, Unicorn Happy Investment Limited now had 10 branches.
She said for the past five years, the company had been offering support to clients, which had enabled them to improve upon their living conditions.
“The aim of the company is to become one of the robust micro finance companies in the country through a chartered strategic path which would position the company to grow.
"We hope to grow to become a world class multi - national financial institution and this will call for support from our clients and stakeholders in the industry," she added.
Dr Dzisi commended the workers of the company for their hard work and dedication to duty.
Employment creation
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr George Afful, was of the view that the microfinance industry had come to stay, since it was complementing government's effort in creating employment in the country.
He gave an assurance that the company would continue to conform to the regulations in the industry and appealed to the Bank of Ghana to create a microfinance fund in order to boost the country's growth.
In a speech read on his behalf, the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Antwi Boasiako-Sekyere, commended the company for its services to clients in the country.
