A proud moment for Mix Masta Garzy

He has been credited as one of the young sound engineers in the country and after winning the confidence of many Ghanaian artistes here, Tema based sound producer, Mix Masta Garzy, hopes to ply his trade beyond the shores of Ghana.

The desire to reach out to “clients” from other parts of the continent inspired him to work on Nigerian artiste, Danagog’s latest song, Hookah, which is expected to start playing on some Ghanaian radio stations soon.

In an interview with Showbiz, Mix Masta Garzy who recently released his Bronya compilation as a Christmas package for his fans, hopes to break into the Nigerian music scene with his ingenuity.

“The world has become a global village and as such, it is important to work hard to earn a reputation beyond just your country of origin. This is not the first time I’m working with an artiste outside Ghana but what makes this project quite unique to me is because I got to work with an artiste from one of the best record labels in Africa.

“ Danagog is signed onto Davido’s HKN music record label which has set itself apart in promoting not just Nigerian music but carved a positive image of the exploits of the African music industry. That is why

I’m particularly honoured to be part of the brand,” an obviously excited Mix Masta Garzy told Showbiz on Monday.

Mix Masta Grazy, real name, Benjamin Nana Kwame Mensah, is at the moment looking forward to winning the Producer of the Year at this year’s Bass Awards.

“I just returned from the video shoot of Hookah from Nigeria. It was such a nice experience and I learnt a lot from the HKN crew. I’m also happy that my works are being appreciated by the nominations I’ve had this year and I hope to get more of such recognition outside as well,” he stated.

Mix Masta Garzy, who was nominated for the GH/UK Afro-beat Award for Youngest Producer in 2012 has produced songs for many artistes such as Castro, Skinny Legend, Ephraim, Dr. Cryme, Sarkodie, Atumpan, Ruff and Smooth, Pope Skinny, VIP and Stay Jay.

Some of the songs he has worked on in the past are Dr.Cryme’s 1step 2back and Komkom Namaye, Sakordie's Wo Shock No Ay3 Weak ft Criss Waddle, Stay Jay’s My Baby ft. Mugeez and Atumpan's Sisimuden.
