This year, the Natural Girl artiste has earned a nomination in the Best International Act, Africa, award which was won by dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, last year.

The announcement was made on the official Instagram account of the BET Africa page on Friday and from the camp of the artiste, “it is refreshing news, since MzVee is the first female Ghanaian artiste to be nominated and the only artiste to be nominated this year,” she stated.

It’s a tough slot for the reigning Female Vocalist of the year as she comes up against the likes of Nigeria’s Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Diamond Platinum, Cassper Nyovest, Black Coffee and South Africa’s AKA.

Last year, Stonebwoy beat off a stiff competition from Ghana’s Sarkodie, AKA (South Africa), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Fally Pupa(Democratic Republic of Congo) and Sauti Sol (Kenya).

A member of the defunct D3 trio group, MzVee shot to fame in 2014 with her debut solo single titled Borkorborkor which featured Lazy of VVIP fame.

She has worked over the years to win some awards among which are the VGMA New Artiste of the Year last year and the VGMA 2016 Female Vocalist of the Year.

Some of the songs she has to her credit are Show Me, Everything, Real Woman, Can’t Wait, Abofra, Borkorborkor and Come Over.
