Ancestral Poet to launch 'Nsɛm ne ɔkra' poetry album

Ghanaian poet, Fredrick Owusu Nyarko Jnr, known in the literary arts industry as Ancestral Poet is set to release his debut poetry album on August 10, this year.

The album, titled: “Nsɛm ne ɔkra” to wit, words and soul, talks about culture, tradition, corruption, history and the daily struggles of life.

The album contains 19 poems out of which 15 are in the English Language with the remaining four in the Twi Language.

Ancestral Poet who is based in Kumasi and a graduate of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has couched a niche for himself, particularly with his use of impeccable Twi language in his poetry works, both in his written poems and spoken word.

The event, which will be held at the Golden Eye Pub Conference Hall at Krofrom in Kumase in the Ashanti Region, will be spiced up with performances from other literary artistes such as Zerben, Aku sika, Ink Weaver, Elidior the poet, Tha black Boi.

More importantly, patrons of the event would also be entertained by an international poet, Ras Takura from Kingston in Jamaica.

The launch of Nsɛm ne ɔkra will be attended by Kings and Queens, clergy men and women, media, poets, musicians, politicians and lovers of literary arts works. Admission to the event is free.

Ancestral Poet has performed on many occasions, including the maiden edition of the Ghana Writers Awards (GWA) in 2016 in Accra.
