Bisa Kdei starts 2018 on good note

Last year was a quiet one for Highlife artiste, Bisa Kdei but the Mansa hitmaker is looking forward to a wonderful 2018.

And he has started on a bright note with the release of his first project for the year titled Hammer. Released yesterday, the highlife piece features Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan.

Having made a name for himself for his exploits on the football pitch, Asamoah Gyan showed off his musical talents to Ghanaians when he released the popular African Girl and Do The Dance in 2011.

His Odo Pa collaboration with his friend Castro was also a massive hit and having admitted to losing interest in music after losing his friend in July 2014, Hammer is, perhaps, a good opportunity to rekindle his love for it again.

Speaking with Showbiz on Monday, Bisa Kdei said the successes chalked by the Black Stars skipper in music influenced his decision to feature him on his first work for the year.

“Everyone knows Asamoah Gyan is a lover of music and he consistently showed that side of him until the unfortunate incident of Castro’s disappearance. I’m hopeful Hammer will revive his love for it,” he said.

Bisa Kdei is also confident Hammer, which is part of the collection for his upcoming third album, Highlife Connect, will set the “right music mood” for 2018 and be another banger after Mansa and Brother Brother.

Born Ronald Kwaku Dei Appiah, Bisa Kdei, who is signed to Black Legendary Music came into the limelight with Azonto Ghost in 2011 and has worked with the likes of Nigeria’s Davido, Reekado Banks and Patoranking.

Back home, he’s done collaborations with some of the prominent artistes including Sarkodie, D-Black, Efya, Obrafour, Stonebwoy and Becca.
In 2016, he won Highlife Song of the Year and Highlife Artiste of the Year awards at the Ghana Music Awards.
