Dagaow joins UNICEF to stop open defecation by 2019
Afropop and hiphop artist, Dagaow, known in his private life as Felix Lambert Dangmaa, has become a UNICEF Social Norms Champion.
The artist, who is also a journalist, was identified by UNICEF and its implementing partners as one of the most influential persons in society.
Speaking with the artist after an orientation workshop for social norms champions, held in Bolgatanga, capital of the Upper East Region, the artist pledged his unflinching support towards stopping open defecation.

He maintains that “open defecation is everyone’s problem because we all drink water from rivers, dams, pipes and other water bodies”.
“These water bodies all stand the risk of being polluted by our own excrement because the rains will eventually wash our excrement into them and we will drink from them”.
Open defecation, the artist added, does not only pollute our water bodies but also the air we depend on for survival.
Dagaow is therefore urging all his fans to stop open defecation, saying “if you are practising open defecation please stop and if you are not doing it in the open, please help to stop those who are”.
The artist, who is currently promoting his new single title “Linga”, said he will as part of his radio tour, spend some time talking about the effects of open defecation and hopes to use various performing platforms to help stop open defecation in Ghana.
