One young presenter who has been inundating the media landscape with top-flight campus entertainment news is Daasebre Kojo Opoku-Agyemang, famously known as JKD (Jay Kojo Daasebre).

The lively presenter, since his days as a student of the University of Ghana has been serving the Ghanaian populace, especially tertiary students, with TV contents dedicated to all facet of campus life on his TV show called Campus Base TV, which airs on Viasat 1 every Saturday at 4pm.

The  professionalism with which he steers affairs as host of the TV show makes him a force to reckon with in the industry.  “ It had never crossed my mind that I will do entertainment because growing up, I always wanted to be a footballer," he told Showbiz in a recent chat.

JKD continued, "I was introduced into the media by my primary school mate, Antoine Mensah of Live FM. We were both with the defunct Vibe FM back then and I was just an errand boy. But I later got the opportunity to be on air briefly."

On how he ended up on Campus Base TV, the native of the Ashanti Region said, "I met Edem Edudzi, the CEO of Flourish Multimedia, at the first ever University of Ghana Jean Nelson Hall Week in 2013, which I emceed. He was there to shoot the pilot for his upcoming tertiary TV show. We met after the event and he asked me to be the presenter of his upcoming TV show, owing to my excellent emceeing of the event that day."

Aside hosting the Campus Base TV show, JKD also presents a campus radio show named Campus Pluzz every Saturday between 1pm and 3pm on Pluzz FM. The idea of hosting a campus radio show ostensibly came about owing to the applause he had always been receiving for his impeccable delivery on the Campus Base TV show.

JKD believes he is the future of the entertainment industry and his name will go down in the annals of Ghanaian entertainment history as one of the pioneering campus TV/radio show hosts who contributed significantly to campus entertainment in the country.

Born to Ghanaian parents on July 22, 1991, in the Republic of La Cote D'Ivoire, Jay Kojo Daasebre started his education at an English school in La Cote D'Ivoire called Morning Glory International School. But he  later had to relocate to Ghana with his parents due to the political violence in La Cote D'Ivoire at the time.

Upon arrival in Ghana, JKD continued his education at the St. Theresa’s Primary School, where he completed his primary school education. He later went to Akosombo International School (AIS) and Ofori Panin Senior High School were where he had his Junior High School and Senior High School education respectively. In 2014, he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in French and Linguistics from the University of Ghana.

"I always say that we are the young 'revolutioners'. Yes, it's time for us to take over. I want to thank all the people in my life, Edem Edudzi, Antoine Mensah, Quame Jnr, Nana Otu Gyandoh, Nana Yaw 18 and also to my family, colleagues and fans,” he concluded.
