Lawyer Nti: Being a celebrity is tough, fans don't care about your low moments
Ghanaian comic actor Lawyer Nti says it is difficult for celebrities to keep up with their lifestyles because it comes with a lot of challenges and expectations.
According to Lawyer Nti, it is actually tough to be a celebrity since a number of people look up to you. “The fans see you as their kings and queens so you cannot fail them.

“When you are going through any form of difficulty you cannot even voice out because the fans don’t want to see our low moments. They get motivated by us so we cannot go telling them our problems” he made this statement during the Graphic Showbiz Twitter( X) Dialogue Series on the topic: Celebrity and Mental Health: Coping with the weight of fame last Thursday mentioned that as a comedian, the fans always expected him to be in a joyous and light mood when they met him without consideration for his mood at that particular time, adding that he was not ready for the instant fame, affecting his mental health.
Lawyer Nti pointed out that he started battling mental health challenges when the fear of meeting up with family, friends, fans and public's high expectations started having a toll on him.
“Before, you are just an ordinary person but all of a sudden, everybody knows you. Your family and friends think you are rich so they are expecting so much from you. You don't have any privacy and must always pretend to be happy because your fans want to see your comic side anytime they meet you.
“I couldn't bear with the pressures, it was a tough time because I'm naturally a quiet person who wants my privacy. But I started finding peace when I became born again.
“Now I can say that I live a happy life getting closer to God. I have now discovered myself and know who truly I am and that all happened after going through this my mental health challenge. I would advise anyone going through any form of mental health challenge to get closer to God and pray a lot," Lawyer Nti said.
The Graphic Showbiz Twitter (X) Dialogue Series hosted by Graphic Showbiz's Gifty Owusu- Amoah had other panelists like Abena Korkor, Gospel musician Kobby Salm, Actress Vicky Zugah and Dr Isaac Newman Arthur, a Clinical Psychologist.
