Man shot after argument over rap video

One member of a rap duo reportedly shot his partner inside a New York grocery shop after an argument over a music video.

The shop's owner said the shooting in the Bronx was triggered by a row over who was the film's star.

"They were fighting over who's the star, who's better," Ali Abdul told the New York Daily News.

The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition, police say.

CCTV images released by New York Police Department show the gunman holding a drink as he shoots the 37-year-old man and hits him with his weapon.

"They were drunk. They spit at each other then one guy pulled out a gun and shot the other guy five times," the shop's owner added.

He said he was familiar with the pair and they had previously appeared to be "best friends".

They had apparently been filming a low-budget rap video nearby when they began to argue.

The fight then spilled into Mr Abdul's business.

NYPD say they are looking for the gunman and appealing for information.
