Mercy Ochere crowned Worship Artiste of the Year at MOGA 2024
UK based Ghanaian gospel musician, Mercy Ochere, has won the Worship Artiste of the Year at the fourth edition of Modern Gospel Award (MOGA) held at the Snap Cinemas in Accra recently.
Mercy, who is known for songs such as Blessed Be Your Name, Ma Nya Faahodi and Yesu Be Ye Da beat a tough competition from the likes of Cece Mills who won the Most Promising Artiste of the Year on the night.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Mercy expressed gratitude to the organisers for the recognition and her teeming fans in Ghana for the “home support” she has been enjoying even though she is based in the UK.
“This award means so much to me and a great motivation not to give up since people follow MY works. I’m also grateful to my team for helping to promote my music in Ghana and to Ghanaians for embracing it,” she said.
Started in 2021, Modern Gospel Awards (MOGA Awards) has been celebrating not so popular gospel musicians who are making impact with their music.
This year’s event was hosted by Baffour Andoh with awards presented in categories such as Praise Artiste of the Year, Famous Artiste of the Year, Crossbreed Artiste of the Year and Sound Engineer of the Year.
Dinah Hammond was honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award.
Also, a number of dignitaries and gospel music personalities including Dr.Maulana, founder of Ministry of Future, Empress Gifty and Scott Evans were honoured.
