Music meets art and spoken word

Reggae artiste, Ras Bomba, will be in action at the Alliance Francaise in Accra on Wednesday, January 28. 

The show is a collaborative project by spoken word and graffiti artists from Ghana and Togo interspersed with jazz by the Blood Drum Spirit Ensemble. 

Directed by Kwame Write, the show forms part of the January edition of La Paillote Takpekpe, which seeks to explore the spirit of togetherness and approach to environmentalism. 

Dubbed The Write Experience, the performance is a mix of poetry and graffiti laced with jazz music by saxophonist, David Bindman, percussionist and pianist, Royal Hartigan, and bassist, Wes Brown. 

The jazz group has performed, held workshops and recorded throughout Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.
