
Regal film festival and awards calls for entries for 2025 edition
The Regal Film Festival and Awards (REFFA) has officially opened submissions for its annual film festival and awards ceremony, set to take place from December 10 - 13, 2025, in Accra.
Filmmakers from across Africa are invited to submit their works, showcasing the diversity and dynamism of contemporary African cinema. The submission closes on Wednesday, October 15.
The festival seeks a wide range of genres, including narrative features, documentaries, indigenous films, short films, animations, and experimental works. A panel of esteemed judges with reputable credentials across Africa will evaluate the submissions.
Submission guidelines include films completed and screened within the last three years in categories such as Best Feature, Best Short, Best Documentary among others.
The Regal Film Festival and Awards is dedicated to celebrating the art of filmmaking and providing a platform for emerging and established filmmakers to share their stories.
It also aims to highlight unique voices and perspectives while fostering a sense of community among filmmakers and audiences alike.
It will feature panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities, allowing filmmakers to connect with industry professionals and audiences.
The awards ceremony will honour outstanding achievements in filmmaking, recognising excellence in acting, directing, writing, and technical artistry.
Head of Media and Communications for REFTA, Maxwell Justice Kpekpo, said the festival seeks to discover new and incredible stories from filmmakers.
