Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has opened up about her desire to have more children, revealing that she has taken steps to preserve the possibility by freezing her eggs.
The mother of one made the disclosure in an interview, explaining that her decision was influenced by her age and her desire to preserve her fertility for the future.
Tiwa, who has a son, Jamil, said she would like to have more children and had taken the decision to freeze her eggs while they were still healthy.
“I want more children, boys. I have actually done egg freezing. I’m just preparing. Like I said, I am not young. I am thinking about my age and want to get my eggs while they are still very healthy,” she said.
The singer has also previously spoken about her experience with egg freezing, describing it as a decision she wished she had made earlier.
In an interview with British broadcaster Zeze Mills, Tiwa encouraged women in their 30s to consider egg freezing, whether or not they were immediately planning to have children.
She explained that becoming a mother in her 30s came at a time when she felt more financially and emotionally stable.
Tiwa Savage welcomed Jamil with her former husband, music executive Tunji “TeeBillz” Balogun, in 2015. The couple married in 2013 but later separated.
She, however, expressed concern about the high cost, arguing that the procedure should be accessible and affordable irrespective of status.
Her latest revelation adds to the growing conversation about women, motherhood and fertility choices, with the award-winning musician remaining open about her personal life alongside her successful music career.

“I’d love to have more kids, but I’ve frozen my eggs. 😳 I’d advise women to consider doing it before 30. I have a friend in her 40s who couldn’t have kids, while another froze her eggs before cancer treatment and was still able to have a child.”
