The programme, which is being organised in the 10 sub-metros within the Accra Metro Education Unit, is to help improve the performance of candidates in public basic schools.

One of such programmes which was held at the St Joseph’s Anglican Church at Bubiashie in Accra, attracted more than 15 JHSs from the Okaikoi Sub-Metro.

The initiative is a collaboration between the Accra Metro Examination Unit and the Science, Technology and Mathematics Education Unit of the GES.

“The programme is aimed at preparing the candidates for the BECE. It involves making the candidates  know and understand the dos and don’ts of the examination and how to avoid mistakes,” Mr Kwasi Asante, the Head of the Examination Department of the Accra Metro Directorate, said.

A total of 22,793 candidates are writing the BECE within the Accra Metro, and Mr Asante revealed that the pilot programme was to target 15,000 candidates.
