Early Child Development Centres mark Ghana at 60

Members of the Early Child Development Centres Association of Ghana have organised a series of activities to mark the 60th anniversary celebration of the country’s independence.

The activities included poetry recitals, march past and cultural displays.

Addressing the gathering, the Eastern Regional Chairperson of the association, Madam Miriam Ofosu Appiah, said the celebration was organised "in our own small way because we believe in the capabilities of our children and the wonderful performances they usually put up during our graduations."

She stated that by coming together, members of the association would encourage one another, learn from past experiences and educate themselves on current trends in early childhood development.

Madam Ofosu Appiah encouraged members of the association to continue to bring up children in their care with love and teach them to uphold discipline at all times. 

She stressed that children should be assisted to learn to sacrifice for the development of their communities as a reflection of their love for their community.
