The school, established in 1998 with few pupils, currently has a population of 1,020 in the kindergarten, primary and junior high departments.

One of the activities which excited parents and a cross-section of the New Dormaa community during the celebration was the cultural display and other traditional acts put up by the pupils and students.

The pupils and students, dressed in various traditional clothes, thrilled their parents and teachers with traditional dances such as anwona kete, adowa, bamaya among others.

Other activities organised during the week included a Career Day celebration during which the students put on uniforms associated with the work they intend to do in future.

A traditional food competition held also saw the students competing in the preparation of the various local dishes which brought a lot of excitement among the pupils and students.

The Head teacher of the school, Mr Daniel Nsiah Gogson called for collaboration between teachers and parents for the proper upbringing of the children to bring the best out of them.

Some of the pupils and students the Junior Graphic spoke with said they had always been looking forward to the Education Week celebration because of the opportunities made available to them to exhibit their skills in the numerous activities organised.

“We are very happy to break from the monotony of always sitting in the classroom. We have the chance to come out and exhibit our culture and other co-curricular activities”.
