NSMQ 2023: Achimota first school to qualify for final after defeating Wesley Girls’ and St. Louis
In a nail-biting semi-final showdown at the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), Achimota School displayed exceptional prowess, securing one of three available slots in the highly anticipated final.
The competition, which took place today at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), saw Achimota School clinch victory over formidable opponents with 41 points, Wesley Girls’ High School (31 points) and St. Louis SHS (26 points).

The scores at the end of each round showcased the intense battle that unfolded as Achimota represented by whizkids Elagbe Walter and Abiwu and Kenneth Bakhita Egbadzor carried the day with a 10-point margin of victory.

In the final match of the day, Keta Senior High School will be aiming for a major upset as they go head-to-head against two-time champions Mfantsipim School and the formidable seven-time champions, Presbyterian Boys' SHS, at 5:30 pm.
