The Bono Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the killing of two ADRAS timber concession guards and the burning of a vehicle at Mpamso forest near Nsuhia in the Dormaa Municipality of the Bono Region.
Murdered in an attack by suspected illegal chainsaw operators, the deceased are Sani Aliyu, 34 and Ibrahim Musa, 35, both security guards at the ADRAS timber concession.
The police in a statement signed by the Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, said efforts were underway to arrest the perpetrators.
Attack
The statement explained that a 41-year-old Ibrahim Issah, also a security guard at the timber concession company on October 26, 2025 reported to the police that a group of people numbering about 200, suspected to be illegal chainsaw operators, wielding guns and machetes, attacked them at the concession site.
It said upon receiving the information, the police proceeded to the crime scene and found two dead bodies lying approximately 100 meters apart in a supine position.
The statement said that when the police examined the bodies, there were multiple gunshot wounds on them.
It said a Toyota pickup with registration number GT 3079-17 was also found burnt beyond repair during the attack.
The statement added that the bodies were retrieved and taken to the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
It urged the public to desist from such violent criminal acts and to resolve issues through the approved channels.
