Assault on journalist; Kenu undergoes head scan at KATH
The Ashanti Regional Correspondent of Graphic, Daniel Kenu, who was assaulted by Baffour Gyan, a senior brother of Black Star captain Asamoah Gyan, and some thugs last Friday, has undergone a head scan at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
The scan on Kenu was undertaken Monday morning after suffering some complications from the assault. The result of the scan is not yet known.

Baffour, himself a former player of the national team, allegedly led the assault, which landed the journalist in hospital for treatment.
The former star was said to have been angry at the journalist for asking his younger brother at a press conference ahead of last Saturday’s Ghana-Uganda match in Kumasi to clear the air on the disappearance of hiplife musician, Castro, while holidaying with the captain at Ada Foah after the Brazil World Cup a few weeks ago.
A group of young football fans taunted Asamoah Gyan during one of the Stars’ training sessions last Wedneday morning at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, demanding the whereabouts of the Castro.
The police later arrested two the fans, who were cautioned and released.

In a follow up to that incident, Mr Kenu urged the player at a press conference held at the Miklin Hostel in Kumasi, to use the platform to clear the air on the controversial matter involving his close friend, Castro.
But the question apparently angered the Gyan brothers, with Baffour leading the thugs on Friday to pounce on Mr Kenu as he went to the stadium for his match accreditation.

Two of the alleged hooligans, including Samuel Anin Addo, a known aide of Asamoah, were arrested last Saturday morning and after their caution statements were taken, were put behind bars at the Kumasi Central Police Station until after the match.
Both Baffour and his alleged accomplice were granted police inquiry bail and were asked to report to the police Monday to assist in investigations.
The assault on Mr Kenu came as little surprise to some close watchers who revealed to Graphic that the thugs, known as G8, had been terrorising football fans who openly criticized the performance of the national captain.
