His stool name is Nana Osei Nyame Boateng and he succeeds Nana Boamah, who died 11 years ago.

At a swearing-in ceremony at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, advised the new chief to be diligent in serving the people in the 14 communities under him.

He asked the chief not to lord it over the people and appealed to the other chiefs and the people of the area to support the new chief.

Nana Boateng expressed thanks to the Asantehene for his blessings and advice and pledged to work to develop his area.
