The donation was in response to a request made by the hospital for medical items to treat burns and bruises suffered by a number of the affected persons on admission.

The hospital received 100 pieces of 50 Cefuroxime (500), 50 packets of Savlon, 84 packets of Meronidazole (400) and Paracetamol. The rest are five pieces of IV Meromem, 15 pieces of IV fluids and 10 pieces of IV Omeprazole.

The Managing Director of CAL Merchant Bank, Mr Frank Adu Jnr, presented the items to the hospital. He said he was impressed with the care the patients were receiving and the dedication which staff of the hospital attached to their work.

He said the bank had been supporting the hospital for many years and was currently refurbishing the facility’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He urged staff of the hospital to continue to do their best in the interest of the patients in their care.

He said extending love to patients also helped them to recuperate quickly.

Mr Adu Jnr said in commemoration of the bank’s 25th anniversary, it had plans to extend support to deprived and less privileged communities and individuals in the society.

The Commanding Officer of the hospital, Col. Samuel Adjei, on behalf of the medical facility and victims of the June 3 disaster, expressed his gratitude to the bank for the support and gave an assurance that the items would be used for the intended purpose.

He, however, appealed for more support in aid of treatment of the victims.
