Court issues bench warrant for land dealer
The Amasaman District Court “B” has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Randy Akoh, a surveyor, for his involvement in a fraudulent land transaction.

The court, presided over by Mr Asibey Osei, issued the warrant on a submission made by the prosecutor that the accused was asked to come to court but he did not turn up
Presenting the facts of the case, Sgt Eric Darko, the prosecutor, said there were three complainants in the case namely; Kelvin Folley, a businessman, Jonah Ofori Agbo, a trader, and Blessing Tetteh, a security man.
He said Akoh and the complainants all lived at Fise, near Amasaman, and are members of the Perez Chapel International, Amasaman branch.
According to the prosecutor, in September 2013, the three complainants needed some parcels of land to buy.
The prosecutor said Akoh later took the three to Ashalaja and showed them a parcel of land which he claimed ownership.
After seeing the said land, Folley purchased eight plots valued at GH¢28,000 and Akoh collected GH¢2,500 as part payment to prepare an indenture for him, he added.
Sgt Darko said Agbo and Tetteh also bought two plots of land each valued at GH¢7,000 a piece and paid GH¢2,500 and GH¢600, respectively, as part payment.

The prosecutor added that after payments, Akoh then ordered Folley, Agbo and Tetteh to start work on their various plots but as soon as they started working on the land, some people came to sack them from the land.
He said when the complainants informed Akoh about the development, he promised to re-allocate other plots of land to the three complainants, but failed.
The complainants subsequently requested Akoh to refund their money to them but he refused, Sgt Darko added.
A report was later made to the police and Akoh was arrested. He was charged and put before the court after investigation.
