The gun and machete-wielding robbers, he said, blocked the road with logs,  subjected each victim to a thorough body search and robbed them of their  values after which they asked them to lie prostrate on the road.

“Through such process, the robbers deprived their victims of money amounting to GH¢4,000, assorted mobile phones and other valuables,” he said.

ASP Amega said a day prior to the robbery, Awudu Salifu, accompanied by Seidu Alhassan, hired a tricycle from one Abel Gyimah, one of the robbery victims, to convey their cattle from Kabre Nkwanta to Atebubu.

During the robbery, Awudu unconsciously demanded that Gyimah surrender the money he charged him for using his tricycle to convey his cattle the previous day.

After the robbery, Gyimah rushed home and reported the incident to the police, and gave Awudu away as one of the robbers.

“Based on this intelligence  Awudu and Alhassan were apprehended. They admitted the offence and led the police to arrest their accomplices,” he added.
