Foreign Affairs Ministry to cancel incomplete passport applications after two months
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that all passport applications left incomplete for a period of two months from the date of initial submission will be automatically cancelled.
In a public notice issued on May 15, the Ministry explained that incomplete applications include cases requiring additional vetting, missing supporting documents, incomplete biometric capture, or pending re-capture procedures.
Under the new directive, affected applicants will be required to restart the entire application process, including payment of the applicable fees, as previously paid fees will not be refunded.
“Fees paid in respect of such applications are non-refundable,” the Ministry stated, urging applicants to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled promptly to avoid cancellation of their submissions.
The Ministry further encouraged the public to complete passport application processes within the stipulated time frame to prevent delays and avoid unnecessary financial loss.
Applicants seeking further clarification have been advised to contact the Ministry’s 24-hour call centre on 0302 754200.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to delivering efficient and quality passport services to the public.
