Naa Andani and three others were shot and killed on Thursday following renewed clashes between two royal gates, Gbigma Yili and Bansi Yili gates, over the Bimbila skin.

In a statement confirming the killing of the Overlord of Bimbila, the Minister of Information and Media Relations, Mahama Ayariga, described the act as a “dastardly and despicable crime that must be condemned in the strongest terms.”

The statement said security has been beefed up to ensure law and order in the area and that investigations have begun to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“We call on the citizens of the area especially in Bimbilla to remain calm,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, government has expressed its deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the Overlord and the other victims.
