Agrinvest signs MoU with service providers

Agrinvest Limited, an innovative platform designed to empower farmers by aggregating the best agricultural services, financial solutions and market access tools, has signed 15 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with service providers to extend mechanisation services to 5,679 young "agripreneurs."

Agrinvest has also entered into two strategic partnerships to broaden the impact of the initiative.

An MoU signed with Crop Doctor, a company that deals in agricultural machinery, is to make tools and equipment available to service providers and youth groups at discounted prices under the "Strengthened Access to Mechanisation for Agribusinesses for Youth Employment Opportunities (SAMA) project.

Agreement

Additionally, the company signed an agreement with Franco Processing and Farms Limited, which would open up internship opportunities for 100 young women in rice processing and grain handling, strengthening the participation of women in the agricultural value chain.

The ceremonies took place last Saturday at Ejisu Abankro, where Agrinvest and the Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture (KITA) convened a stakeholder forum that brought together th Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), Crop Doctor and 15 young mechanisation service providers.

They included tractor owners and operators, rice, cassava and vegetable processors, as well as grain drying service providers.

The event served as a platform to build strategic partnerships and introduce service providers to innovative tools and technologies that could improve efficiency and service delivery to young farmers and agripreneurs.

The Project Coordinator of Agrinvest, Rev. Kofi K. Nyanteng, emphasised the importance of building strong partnerships to unlock opportunities for youth in agriculture.

The Head of Agriculture at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Mampong Campus, Dr Addison, facilitated the programme.
