The people of Assin Odumase in the Assin South District in the Central Region on Holy Saturday, realised GH¢51,638 at a special fund-raising rally to finance development projects in the community.
The projects, which are being undertaken through communal labour and the payment of special levies, are the construction of streets and the development of the local durbar ground.
The ceremony attracted many dignitaries, including the queenmother of Assin Odumase, Nana Afia Dankwa, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour and the Nifahene of Sefwi Amafie.

Communal spirit
Speaking at the ceremony, the regent of Assin Odumase, Nana Kwabena Amoako, commended the communal spirit of the people and urged them to sustain it to speed up the progress of the community.
Nana Amoako, known in private life as Assistant Commissioner of Police Daniel Kwabena Amoako, the Sefwi Wiawso Divisional Police Commander, commended the fund-raising committee members for rendering satisfactory accounts on the funds realised at the previous fund-raising activities.
He advised the people, especially the youth, to bury their differences and rally behind him to rebuild Assin Odumase.
