Ministerial list circulating fake — President-elect’s Office

The Office of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has asked the general public to disregard a list making the rounds in the media that he has made ministerial appointments ahead of his assumption of office.

Days after Mr Mahama was declared the winner of the presidential polls by the Electoral Commission, a list began circulating on social media, suggesting names of personalities likely to be appointed ministers.

However, in a press statement issued yesterday, the Special Aide to Mr Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, stated that the list circulating on social media was false.

She emphasised that Mr Mahama had not announced any appointments, and urged the public to dismiss the rumours.

“The list is entirely fabricated and has no basis. The circulation of such false information has created confusion among the public, prompting the need for an official clarification,” the statement said.

Mrs Bawah Mogtari stressed that any authentic announcements regarding appointments or other related matters will be issued through official channels.

She advised the public to rely solely on communications from Mr Mahama’s office to avoid being misled.

“We urge everyone to disregard the fake news and refrain from spreading unverified information,” the statement read.
