IGP calls for calm in Cape Coast
The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. John Kudalor has called for calm in the aftermath of the reprisal attack by some aggrieved youth of Cape Coast on Sunday 23rd November 2015.

While entreating all aggrieved persons to exercise restraint, the Inspector-General of Police assured them of a thorough investigation into the incident by the Police. He indicated the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS), the Homicide squad, and the ballistic experts from the Forensic Science Lab, Accra had been directed to conduct the investigation, and submit a report as soon as possible.
In a working visit to the former capital of the country, Mr. John Kudalor paid a courtesy call on the Omanhen of Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwasi Attah II and also visited the Police Station which was attacked by the irate youth.
While at the palace, the Inspector-General of Police expressed his gratitude and that of the Police Administration to the overlord of Oguaa for his role in restoring law and order to Cape Coast, and called on him to continue to do his best to consolidate the progress made so far. He added that he knew Cape Coast to be very peaceful and serene, and the people calm and peace-loving, and asked them to continue to uphold those virtues.
The Inspector-General of Police also pledged the commitment of the Police to get to the bottom of the incident, so as to ensure permanent restoration peace in the area, and strengthen friendship between the Police and the people of Oguaa.
On his part Osabarima Kwesi Attah II, first, congratulated the new Inspector-General of Police or his appointment to that high office and pledged his support for a successful tenure. The paramount chief told the Inspector-General of Police that every effort was being made to maintain calm in Cape Coast and it’s envious.
He also implored the Police to exercise maximum restraint in the discharge of the duties, admitting that policing is crucial.
On the other hand the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Aquainas Tawiah Quansah also assured the Inspector-General of Police of the assistance of the regional administration in providing security in the region, and entreated him to ensure that justice is done in this instance.

The Inspector-General of Police also met with families of the deceased, commiserated with them and assured them of police commitment to getting to the bottom of the incident without any partiality.
In the IGP’s entourage were Director-General/CID, COP/Mr. Prosper Agblor, Director-General/ Public Affairs, DCOP/Rev. David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin, Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP/Mr. R. M. Ninson and the Chief Staff Officer, ACP/Mr. Francis Ayitey Aryee.
