The items, which included bags of rice, cartons of soft drinks, cartons of Pringles chips and gallons of cooking oil, were meant to support the facility to organise its annual Christmas party for children.
Presenting the items to the hospital officials, the Director of Communications of the Melcom Group of Companies, Mr Godwin Avenorgbo, said it had been a successful year for the company in terms of its support to the needy.
He explained that the company’s commitment to healthcare delivery drove it to identify those in need and provide assistance to them.
“This is the season to give and share and the Foundation recognises that it is the best time for children to feel loved,” he said.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, a biomedical scientist, Major Laurinda Adusu-Donkor, expressed the management’s gratitude to the foundation for its commitment to put smiles on the faces of the children during the Yuletide.
She added that the Christmas party would not only benefit the sick children but also children from the two basic schools, the 37 Military Basic School and the Flagstaff House Basic School, which are being managed by the hospital.
