
Minister engages MTN, NCA staff association on telecom sector matters
The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, met with key stakeholders on February 24, 2025, to discuss issues affecting Ghana’s telecommunications sector.
A delegation from MTN Ghana, led by CEO Stephen Blewett, met with the Minister to discuss industry-related matters.
The meeting was aimed at fostering a stronger working relationship between the Ministry and the company to support the sector’s development.
The Minister also met with the National Communications Authority Staff Association (NCASA) to discuss staff welfare and issues concerning the Authority’s operations. Separately, NCASA paid a courtesy call on the Minister to congratulate him on his appointment.
The meeting, attended by Chief Director Alexander Yaw Arphul and the union’s leadership, also touched on concerns affecting the institution.
The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations is responsible for formulating and implementing government policies in the sector.
It plays a role in shaping policies that support the industry’s growth.
The meetings formed part of ongoing discussions to address challenges in the sector.
