No amount of intimidation will stop us - LMVCA tells government

Pressure group, Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) has said it would not be intimidated by government in its quest for a new voters register ahead of the 2016 General Elections.

According to the group, it would use every means legal to ensure that the voters register is clean as well as ensure a level playing field for general elections in Ghana.

This comes in the wake of a court injunction secured by the police on Monday restraining the group from staging a demonstration at the Electoral Commission (EC).

LMVCA had earlier in the day gotten clearance from an Accra Circuit Court to stage its planned demonstration Tuesday, but another Circuit Court presided over by Mrs Jennifer Anne Myers, ordered the organisers of the demonstration to fix another date in October to give the police adequate time to prepare and ensure safety of the demonstration and the public.
