Nursing, midwifery school for Manso Nkwanta
A multi-purpose nursing and midwifery training school is to be built at Manso Nkwanta in the Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region to boost the people’s access to quality health care.

The project, which is expected to take two years to complete, is estimated to cost about GH¢3 million. A ceremony for work on the project to begin has taken place, making it the first of its kind in the whole of Amansie.
In view of this, an eight-member committee has been formed to ensure successful implementation of the project and also ensure that the 23-acre land alloted for the project is not encroached upon.
The committee is chaired by the District Health Director, Mr Domic Durbin. Other members are the District Planning Officer, Abigail Magti, staff members of the District Assembly namely Justice Zode, Michael Van Sowah, and the Assistant District Coordinating Director (member secretary) and Mr Stephen T. Ofosuhene. The rest are Nana Yaw Ababio, an engineer, Mr Joseph Manu, the Budget officer for the District Assembly, and Nana Owusu Achiaw, an opinion leader, who is a representative of the traditional authority.
The first phase of the work on the project will comprise lecture halls, an administrative block, bungalows for lecturers and a student dormitory.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Manso Nkwanta, Mr Alex Kwame Bonsu, met with traditional authorities in the district after the inauguration and briefed them on developments.
The meeting discussed several ways through which the assembly and traditional authorities in the area could collaborate to bring about improvement in the living standards of the people.
The Chief of Manso Nkwanta, Nana Bi Kusi Appiah, suggested a quarterly meeting between the two bodies and made a case for the district to be given due recognition when it came to the distribution of the national cake.
