GNS Foundation donates to Korle Bu Sickle Cell Clinic
The Gibeleen and Sandra Foundation (GNS Foundation) in collaboration with Ederick Ghana and other benevolent individuals have presented medical equipment worth GHC5,000 to the Ghana Institute of Clinical Genetics located at Korle Bu Polyclinic in Accra.
Presenting the items Wednesday, the Executive Director of GNS Foundation, Sandy Amponsah Ayivor indicated that her outfit is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established by two sisters with a focus on assisting individuals who have the Sickle Cell disease.

Madam Ayivor disclosed that the items include syringes 30 ml and 50 ml, cotton wool, gloves, malaria test kits, stitches, RDT test tubes and kits which were funded sponsorship from Ederick Ghana as well as other individuals.
The Specialist Hematologist at the Korle Bu Sickle Cell Clinic, Dr Eugenia Vicky Quartey Asare who received the items on behalf of the hospital expressed gratitude urging other "good Samaritans" to follow suit.
Dr Eugenia Vicky Quartey Asare further advised Ghanaians that are diagnosed with Sickle cell to seek medical treatment early because many infants are saved currently compared to the past that many children born died through the disease.
Dr Quartey also advised Ghanaians to find out their sickling status by visiting accredited laboratories for screenings.
