Ada West endorses District Chief Executive
The Ada West District Assembly in the Greater Accra Region has given approval to the President’s nominee as the District Chief Executive for the area.
Mr. Adzoteye Lawer Akrofi, 69, was given 100% approval at an assembly meeting held at Sege, the district capital, last Thursday.

The new District Chief Executive for Ada West is a professional teacher and until his new appointment was a Director of Ideal Finance Company Limited and Ada Rural Bank Limited. He is also Administration and Management Consultant. He is a former Director of ARB Apex Bank. He worked at Barclays Bank, SSB, and Ghana Commercial Bank among other financial institutions.
Prior to the confirmation, the Presiding Member of the Ada West District Assembly, Mr David Narh Ameyaw, said as a young district carved out of the Dangme East District, the area needed development and pleaded with all the assembly members to endorse the President’s nominee.

The Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ms Elizabeth Sackey, and Member of Parliament for Okai Koi North, who witnessed the endorsement, praised the assembly members for their maturity and mutual understanding in the exercise.
‘’You have got the right person who will woo investors into your area for development. I am happy you are thinking of the country rather than your own parochial interests,’’ the Deputy Minister stressed.
A Member of the Council of State from the area, Dr Nii Kotei Dzani, who spoke earlier, appealed to the assembly members not to disappoint the President as the nominee is a good material that would be useful not only to the district but the country in general.

Mr Akrofi in his response thanked the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and the President who nominated him. He said he would not discriminate but use all members of the house to work in the intrest of the district and Ada Traditional area as a whole.

‘’I don’t discriminate. You voted for good leadership who loves peace and is a unifier. I am ready to work with all shades of people regardless of political affiliation in order to accelerate development of the area and I will solicit support from everybody most especially the chiefs,’’ he added.
The Ada West District Electoral Officer, Ms Linda Esi Abban, supervised the confirmation.
