During voting at the district capital, Kodie, all the 56 assembly members voted YES to endorse the nominee.

A Deputy Ashanti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mr Lawrence Sarpong, raised the hands of Mr Karikari Acheamfour to declare him duly endorsed  Appeal by the assembly.

A former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr F. F. Anto, who represented the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, had earlier (before voting) appealed to the assembly members to endorse the appointee.

Mr Acheamfour, in an acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to all the assembly members for the honour done him.

He said he was overwhelmed by the 100 per cent result that emerged out of the voting, saying that that was evidence that both the people of Afigya and Kwabre were one and would continue to work in unison for development.

He said his doors were always opened and that he would soon outline his strategies to bring development to the area and called for the support of all.

The Afigya Kwabre South Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Mr Odeneho Kwaku Appiah praised the assembly members for endorsing the President’s nominee.

He said the endorsement of the President’s nominee was the greatest respect and honour for the President.

He urged assemblies that were yet to confirm the President’s nominee for their respective areas to take a cue from the “perfect example of Afigya Kwabre” and progress.
