Consider Obiri Boahen for ministerial appointment – Odumasi youth appeal to Akufo-Addo

Friends of Nana Obiri Boahen, a pressure group at Odumasi, capital of the Sunyani West District has appealed to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to consider the Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen for a ministerial appointment.

According to the group, they have concerns about the President overlooking Nana Obiri Boahen, who is a citizen of the town since he was the voice for voiceless within the party throughout the country when the NPP was in opposition.

Addressing a press conference Wednesday morning at Odumasi, the Youth Coordinator of the group, Mr Nash Yeboah, appealed to President Akufo-Addo to consider appointing Nana Boahen into his government.

Mr Yeboah expressed worry about the seeming neglect of Nana Obiri Boahen whenever the NPP was in power even though he continued to sacrifice his time and resources in the interest of the party.

“These have given room for the some National Democratic Congress (NDC) members to castigate Nana Obiri Boahen by calling him names”.

According to Mr Yeboah it was the view of NDC members that the NPP party did not value Nana Boahen’s contribution when they were in power but rather see him as relevant when they were in opposition.
