The vetting exercise, which will begin today, is expected to be concluded tomorrow.

Rejected

Meanwhile, the party has rejected the candidature of Onzy Nkrumah, who claims to be one of Dr Kwame Nkrumah’s children.

According to the Communications Director of the party, Kadri Abdul Rauf Issifu, Onzy’s filing was not accepted because he could not comply with set rules, which included the payment of GH¢155,000 which included the filing fees, picking of nominations forms fee and development levy.

Mr Issifu said the cheque Onzy presented to the party was in a company’s name but when the bank, where the money was lodged, was contacted, officials said the cheque could not be cashed because there was not enough money in the account of the company.

"The rule the party set is that for you to file, you must either bring your money in cash or in banker's draft. Unfortunately, he presented a cheque, and it was also close to the end of nominations," Mr Issifu explained.
