Let’s demonstrate political maturity for December polls — Supt Tanko
The Dambai District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Mohammed Tanko, has called on Ghanaians to demonstrate political maturity during the forthcoming December 7 elections.
He stressed the need for all stakeholders to work together to consolidate the peace of the country by conducting peaceful elections. “Election is about competition of ideas and not hate speech.

We must ensure every Ghanaian continues to positively contribute to peace, to let Ghana emerge once again as the beacon of hope in the world,” he stated.
Inter-party
Mr Tanko made the call during the inauguration of the Inter Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) organised by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) at Krachi East Municipal Assembly Hall, Dambai.
He urged the 40-member committee and stakeholders within the municipality to guard against hate speech which could inspire violence. Mr Tanko said it was important to get all Ghanaians to moderate their behaviour on election day to ensure that the country becomes the winner of the elections.
Dialogue
He said peace was fragile and priceless, hence, “We should use dialogue to resolve issues, not a feast, not a gun. We must walk in peace and talk peace, for without peace there will be no development.”
On behalf of the committee, Reverend John Pangmwot pledged the commitment of members of the committee to ensure the message reached the grassroots as part of their efforts to contribute to the municipality’s peace and the country at large.
He commended the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Municipal Assembly for initiating the formation of the IPDC in the Municipality and holding this exercise. -GNA
