MP sets up GH¢100,000 scholarship fund to support brilliant, needy students

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for New Juaben North in the Eastern Region, Nana Osei-Adjei, has launched a GH¢100,000 Education and Scholarship Fund to support brilliant needy students in the constituency.

While the education fund targeted students at the tertiary level as well as persons with disabilities (PWDs), the scholarship fund will also cater to women and children to help alleviate their financial burden on parents and promote equitable access to quality education.

Speaking at the official launch of the fund at Effiduase last Friday, Nana Osei-Adjei stated that, as an MP, his priority was investing in education for national progress and cohesion.

The establishment of the fund, he indicated, was a step toward bridging that gap and nurturing the next generation of leaders and professionals in the constituency.

The scholarship scheme, Nana Osei-Adjei indicated, would cover tuition fees, learning materials and other essential costs associated with it to better the lives of the beneficiaries.

He assured the constituents that the fund would be managed transparently and accountably, with clear criteria to ensure that only deserving students benefited.

“We will put in place strict measures to guarantee fairness, so that every cedi disbursed directly benefits the student it is intended for,” Nana Osei-Adjei added.

Studies

Nana Osei-Adjei further encouraged students to take their studies seriously, stressing that hard work and discipline remained key ingredients for success.

The MP expressed optimism that the fund would have a lasting impact on beneficiaries' lives, helping them contribute meaningfully to their families, communities and the nation as a whole.
